Our Home — The Bankle
We are proud to call the legendary Bankle Building our physical and spiritual headquarters.
Built in 1919 on Woodward Avenue in Brush Park, the Bankle has a long and rich history intimately tied to the last century of Detroit’s history. From the roaring 20s through the depression era, and on into the 50s, and beyond – the Bankle has survived through the best and worst years.

On the day to day, the Avant Garden studio space operates as a private art studio for our members to develop their creative projects.
After getting a lot of interest from members and organizations in our community to host different kinds of events we have expanded our operations to include the rental of our space as a venue on occasion as our calendar permits.
